Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work - March 2013 saw the standards
around first aid change and this course is the new version. The HSE no longer approve courses, so for a course to be
qualified it must be awarded through and Awarding Body. Our course is awarded through the Highfield Awarding Body for
Compliance. It meets and exceeds QCF/OfQUAL guidelines. The course is a full day (9-5) and is valid for 3 years. Friday
4th December 2015 Full day 9am to 5pm
Level 2 Award in Health & Safety. This
is the 'Foundation' level course aimed at all staff, team leaders & supervisors. As with the above, it covers
all aspects of Health & Safety, including aspects of criminal and civil law. This is a full day course and is valid
for 3 years. Tues 24th November 2015 Full day 9am to 5pm
Level 2 Award in Manual
Handling. We do the level 1 award as well, but I believe the level 2 offers far better value for money. It
is only marginally more expensive than the level 1 but is valid for 3 years instead of 1 year. It covers all aspects
of Manual Handling including legislation and team lifting. The Local Authority currently have an initiative called 'The
Better Backs Campaign' and as part of this they are looking closely at smaller businesses for compliance and training
of staff. Under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992, an employer
is obliged to provide manual handling training to all staff regardless of what industry they work, the type of lifting operations
they participate in or their experience. Current figures show a cost to society of £6b per annum, and it is this
reason that the Local Authorities have been tasked with checking compliance! It is a 3 hour course valid for 3 years.
Tues 15th December 2015 Half Day only 9am to 12 midday
